Semester 2
FasTrack 2009 – 19 August
What differentiates you from the other 7000 business students?

FasTrack is QUT’s premier networking function, giving you the chance to network with top graduate and vacation employers. Remember the old adage “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” While uni teaches you the what, FasTrack provides you with the who. While lectures teach you content, it is who you know that will truly get you a job. FasTrack is an ideal environment to meet representatives from employers to give you the edge over the other 7000 graduating business students.
Guest Speakers include Managing Partner of Arete Executive, Richard Triggs and the Head of the School of Economics and Finance, Prof. Tim Robinson.
When: 5:15-8:30pm, Thursday 19th August.
Where: Sebel Citigate, Cnr Ann & Roma St
How much: free for members, $10 for non-members.

Semester 1
Week 10 – Thursday May 6th
“Day in the Life of Event” – iClub – Central Plaza 2, 66 Eagle St
Experience an invaluable opportunity to know what it’s like to live the life of a CEO. EFS will team up with Young Economists to give students insight into life after uni and on top the corporate world. The session will be held at QIC in Brisbane’s CBD with presenters including Brisbane professionals and Doug McTaggart, Chief Executive of QIC.
Week 8 – Monday April 19th
Interview skills session – Gibson Room z1046
Give yourself an opportunity to practice and learn new interview skills to secure that dream job. The interview skills session is a fantastic chance to have real world practice in a mock interview without the real world consequences of a bad interview. You will be given a chance to try new tactics while also receiving feedback on the quality of your responses – and most importantly how to improve upon them.
Week 5 – Wednesday March 24th
Big 4 Firm Crawl
Semester 1 of 2010 saw EFS hold the Big 4 firm crawl. With graduate and vacation recruitment for 2010 nearing close EFS gave members a perfect opportunity to get their foot in the door, get noticed and get an inside look at Deloitte, Ernst and Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG – four of the most desirable graduate recruitment destinations in Brisbane.
Presentations gave members valuable information about the firms, their culture and most importantly the recruitment process. Members were also able to tour the firms and talk with the staff about their professional experiences.
EFS would like to thank our hosts for a great event and also all those who attended.
