FasTrack 2008
Fastrack was the flagship event for Semester 2, 2008. The objective of the event was to provide students with the opportunity to meet with prospective employers and industry representatives.
Attendance
Organised by the new Board of Directors, in conjunction with CPA, Fastrack attracted a turnout of approximately 120 students and 35 corporate representatives. While the event was open to all majors, the majority of students were from Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics and Law disciplines.
Corporate representatives were invited from a wide range of organisations such as commercial banks, consulting firms, public sector, mining and resources, investment banks, insurance institutions, educational institutions, accounting firms and consulting firms.
During the evening, it was expressed by a corporate representative that “overall the students… [were] thoroughly prepared and very professional” with most students bringing business cards. It was also noted by many that the students had a clear understanding of the purpose and nature of the event, expressed genuine interest while talking with representatives and set a high level of personal presentation.
